Vinyl Application 101:
- Make sure the surface you’re applying the vinyl to is clean – use glass or surface cleaner – and make sure it’s dry before you apply your decal.
- Position the decal where you want it BEFORE REMOVING IT FROM THE BACKING.
- Mark the position you want with a wax marker or if it’s a large decal, tape the back half of the decal to the surface and make sure it’s level.
- Slowly peel off the backing (making sure the decal sticks to the transfer tape) and don’t let the decal fold or it will stick to itself. When applying larger decals, peel back the first half of the sticker and stick it to the surface, then peel of the last half.
- Using a small squeegee, press out all of the air bubbles you can. If you get a bubble that you can’t press out, use a small needle to poke a hole in the bottom of the bubble, then squeegee out all of the air.
- Once the decal is pressed down onto the surface, peel back the transfer tape SLOWLY (beginning at one corner). Try not to “lift” the tape, but peel it in a downward motion. If the decal does not stick, try using some tweezers to get it off of the tape, then press it onto the surface.
If you need any assistance applying your decals, or if you need a squeegee, just call us and we’ll help you. We can also apply them for you if you’re local!!
